Degree of a Polynomial
Let
\[ f(x)=a_0+a_1x+\dots+a_nx^n \]be a polynomial over a ring . We define the degree of \(f(x)\) to be the highest power in the expression of \(f(x)\). That is, provided \(a_n \neq 0\), we denote \(\deg{f}=n\).
